Review : Steamcream (Lux Box April 2012)

[blockquote_right]STEAMCREAM is an award winner. We won the CEW (UK) Award for Best Everyday New Skincare and Pure Beauty Award for Best Design & Packaging. Once you’ve tried it you’ll understand why![/blockquote_right]

The first item I’ll be reviewing from my Lux Box is the well known Steamcream, I have heard so much about this cream and have been looking forward to testing it. Steamcream itself was founded by a group of Anglo-Japanese friends that had known eachother for many years according to their website. Their idea was to make a cream that could be used by anyone and everyone no matter what that persons skin type would be.

[blockquote_right]We wanted it to really work, (super nourishing, hydrating, full of nutrients, effective etc), ethical and affordable. We also wanted to hand make it fresh because we believe that what you put on your skin is as important as what you eat. Just like food, fresh is best. Simple.[/blockquote_right]

The concept of having one cream for everything is great, not only will it save room in your cupboards / dresser but to have that one product to rely on is both affordable efficient. The name comes from how its made, its handmade a product of natural ingredients combined with a shot of steam. The method is said to make the cream very lightweight which provides the skin with long-lasting hydration. Infact the texture is said to make it perfect for the entire body from your head to your toes.

The cream comes in beautiful, eco-friendly limited edition tins that are designed by Steamcream themselves but they also work with other designers. Its’s first come first served before the tin goes out of stock. When your cream is all gone, keep your tin for storing things.

[blockquote_right]STEAMCREAM is handmade in the UK and Japan with fresh, traceable ingredients. It’s super-moisturising, sinks deep down instantly and revives your skin straight away. It makes your skin simply the best it can be, naturally.[/blockquote_right]

So the question is does it live up to how its advertised and is it worth £12.95?

In one word YES!, this is by far the best cream I have ever used and I will continue to use it until it is all gone. Then I will buy a new tub and start all over again. The hype over this cream has been astounding and after using this it a couple of days I can see why. The formula is so light it literally sinks into your skin seconds after applying, so your skin feels soft for the rest of the day. The smell is light and although not perfumed smells not much different to some fragranced creams I have tried. The natural ingredients have to be kinder on your skin that harsher chemicals and to top it off you get a pretty tin which you will never have to throw away. I have also found in this hot weather the skin on my elbows has been very dry and the cream has helped hydrate the skin to the point they no longer look or feel dry. If it can do that in a couple of days for me, I recommend others trying it to see what it can do for them. Clear out all the different creams you’ve got for just one thing and just have this one tin….you will not regret it.
