Sleek MakeUp Palette Swatches – Vintage Romance

The latest sleek makeup palette I’ve used to create a look is the vintage romance palette, if you’ve seen my previous posts then you know how highly pigmented these eyeshadows are, there are so many colours and finishes to choose from.

The vintage romance palette has become one of my favourite go to palettes to create both daytime and nighttime looks.

I thought I’d swatch the colours on my skin as I’ve done with past palettes, as you can see from the pictures below the colours stay true to what they look like in the pan.

The palette has the silver, gold, bronze and gunmetal colours which combine easily with the other colours in the palette. I like the purples and burgundy eye shadows that are perfect for people with brown eyes. There is also a black that you only need a little of which is comparable to MAC Black Tide but much less messy.

Look : Vintage Romance Sleek MakeUp

There are many different eyeshadow palettes out these days, you can buy a huge palette with 100s of colours or build your own palette buying single colours. I like creating my own palettes but you can’t go far wrong with Sleek Makeup palettes. Each uniquely different, perfectly named and highly pigmented.

Available in Superdrug, Boots aswell as other retailers. I have a number of these palettes and thought I would show you a daytime look using the Vintage Romance Palette.

  • Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
  • No7 Brilliantly Bare
  • Rimmed Match Perfection – Ivory
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • MAC Eyeshadow – Vanilla & Soba
  • Sleek Makeup : Vintage Romance Palette – A Vow in Venice & Love in London
  • L’Oréal Super Liner – Black Lacquer
  • Benefit Kohl Pencil – Onyx
  • L’Oréal Mega Volume Mascara : Miss Magna – Black
  • Model Co : More Brows – Medium/Dark
  • No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick – Brick Red

If red lipstick is too much for your daily look swap it out for something more subtle or a nude lipstick. To tone down the eyes skip the winged eyeliner and just use mascara.

Review : Benefit Puff Off!

Every woman has those little wonder products in their makeup bag, the mascara that lengthens your eyelashes, the lip gloss that gives you fuller lips and all these help us achieve our daily look.

But what if you don’t have anything but 15 mins to get ready in the morning, concealing and contouring will take too much of that time and you can’t leave the house with only half a face on. Whether your a mum on the school run, in a rush to beat traffic to get to work or trying to recover from a night out Benefit Puff Off! Will help you out.

Benefit Puff Off review

Benefit Puff Off! Is an eye gel that instantly smooths puffiness under the eyes. The gel itself is peach coloured and has only a slight fragrance. If you’ve used Benefit products before such as Benefit Eyecon or Benefit Its potent then you’ll love this little wonder. Not only does it smooth puffy tired eyes but will also smooth out fine lines and creases. It can be used alone or under makeup.

Benefit Review Puff Off

Personally I use this when I’m short for time in the mornings or running a little late for the school run. It’s suprising how much of a difference it makes, I use it along side Benefit It’s potent eye cream which is a brightening cream that fades dark circles. I like that the formula is light, cooling to the skin and you only need a little for each eye so a little really does go a long way. The photo above show you just how little you need to use to achieve results.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box Review – April #LFBLOOMS

Its been a while since I was sitting down at the computer to write a blog post but sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day which I’m sure many mums out there will agree with. It’s always a little crazy in our household but let me explain a little why beauty boxes had become unimportant and why the Lookfantastic Beauty Box has grabbed my attention.

I haven’t had many beauty boxes for the past year or so as I found I had a mountain of stuff I wasn’t using, some of which was stuff I would probably never use and it came to a point where the cost of the boxes just didn’t live up to the contents. Instead of monthly subscrptions I instead bought the boxes I liked the look of and spent the money on new beauty items I really wanted to try (reviews to come).

That was until Febuary this year when an advert caught my attention for the LookFantastic Destination Beauty Box, up until that point I’d heard about it but just was tempted to go back to monthly subscrptions and piles of products I’d never use. A huge selling point of this box was the price at 11.25 a box with free delivery it’s worth a chance especially with the brands available to LookFantastic.

Look fantastic April Beauty Box

The box for April is deadacted to celebrating Earth Month, it’s all about natural, organic and eco friendly products that will also benefit you. Before you scroll any further make sure you want to see the contents of the box, just in case yours in still in the post, if curiosity has still got the better of you… keep going.

#LFBLOOMS

What’s in the box?

Rituals Miracle Scrub – An exfoliating scrub for your hands infused with nourishing oils that will condion your skin leaving it glowing with health. A delicate scent of Ginseng is light and not at all overpowering. It can be used daily to keep hands in perfect condition.

Bloom and Blossom : Bath and Shower Gel – A product free from parabens, sulfates and synthetic fragrance that leaves your skin clean and looking healthy. Infused with organic cucumber extracts and Vitamin E two things we already know to be good for your skin, plus an added bonus it is safe to use throughout pregnancy and motherhood thanks to the natural and safe ingredients. I’ve already triend this and it is a lovely product that doesn’t overwhelm you with too much scent.

Briogeo : Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask – Infused with argan, avocado, Rosehip, Sweet almond oils as well as a multitude of Vitamins this mask will leave your hair soft and replenished. The organic brand uses the unquie blend to bring your hair back to its best. A cruelty free product formulated without silicone, synthetic fragrance, parabens and phthalates. Perfect for people with sensitive skin and scalps.

Elemis : British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter – A luxurious hand cream made with chamomile, Lavender, Geranium and Palmarosa a beautiful mix. The shea butter rehydrates your skin, leaving it soft and I stand by this. Perfect to leave in your handbag and use whenever needed.

Tanworx: Tan Maintainer – Enriched with carrot, coconut and sunflower oil which aid in hydrating the skin. A perfect base for fake tan. Unfortunetly not my kind of product but could be handy for the self-tanners out there.

Balance Me: Super Toning Body Polish – A exfoliant that is the ultimate treat, ground walnut-spheres help remove the dead skin and past product build up to reveal smooth and glowing skin. The Blackberry Leaf extract helps boost collagen production and encourage cell renewal for soft healthy skin.

Lookfantastic #LFBLOOMS

I was happy with the first box and its rare for the second box to be just as good but I’m over the moon happy with everything in it. I definetly recommend giving the Lookfantastic Beauty Box a try.

Dita Von Teese Inspired Make up Look

A Sunday night with no kids and hoping to go out somewhere nice with the other half. I’m hoping a romantic meal but either way I have plenty of time to get ready as the other half is still stuck in work. What better way to relax and get in the mood for a great evening than doing my favourite pin up girl look. Nude eye shadow, black eyeliner with a flick and red lips. This time I went for a Dita Von Teese inspired look with minimum products but maximum results. Here is what I used:

  • Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Sensitive – Light
  • MAC Select Moisturecover – NW15
  • MAC Blot Powder – or any anti shine powder you tend to use.
  • Diego Dalla Palma Snow White Palette – Destiny and Battleground
  • Illamasqua Eye Liner Cake – Mislead
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil – Yeyo (Use this on the lower lash waterline to open your eyes up making them look bigger)
  • MAC Lip Pencil – Redd
  • MAC Lipstick – Russian Red (Simply the best red ever, I love all my red lipsticks but this is my go to colour.)
