Lookfantastic Beauty Box Review – April #LFBLOOMS

Its been a while since I was sitting down at the computer to write a blog post but sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day which I’m sure many mums out there will agree with. It’s always a little crazy in our household but let me explain a little why beauty boxes had become unimportant and why the Lookfantastic Beauty Box has grabbed my attention.

I haven’t had many beauty boxes for the past year or so as I found I had a mountain of stuff I wasn’t using, some of which was stuff I would probably never use and it came to a point where the cost of the boxes just didn’t live up to the contents. Instead of monthly subscrptions I instead bought the boxes I liked the look of and spent the money on new beauty items I really wanted to try (reviews to come).

That was until Febuary this year when an advert caught my attention for the LookFantastic Destination Beauty Box, up until that point I’d heard about it but just was tempted to go back to monthly subscrptions and piles of products I’d never use. A huge selling point of this box was the price at 11.25 a box with free delivery it’s worth a chance especially with the brands available to LookFantastic.

Look fantastic April Beauty Box

The box for April is deadacted to celebrating Earth Month, it’s all about natural, organic and eco friendly products that will also benefit you. Before you scroll any further make sure you want to see the contents of the box, just in case yours in still in the post, if curiosity has still got the better of you… keep going.

What’s in the box?

Rituals Miracle Scrub – An exfoliating scrub for your hands infused with nourishing oils that will condion your skin leaving it glowing with health. A delicate scent of Ginseng is light and not at all overpowering. It can be used daily to keep hands in perfect condition.

Infused with organic cucumber extracts and Vitamin E two things we already know to be good for your skin, plus an added bonus it is safe to use throughout pregnancy and motherhood thanks to the natural and safe ingredients. I’ve already triend this and it is a lovely product that doesn’t overwhelm you with too much scent.

Lookfantastic #LFBLOOMS

I was happy with the first box and its rare for the second box to be just as good but I’m over the moon happy with everything in it. I definetly recommend giving the Lookfantastic Beauty Box a try.

Balance Me Rose Otto Intensive Lip Salve Review ( She Said Beauty August)

Time to review the Balance Me Rose Otto Intensive Lip Salve received in my August She Said Beauty Box, this is petroleum-free, 100% natural ultra-moisturising intensive lip salve.

It can be used daily to plump, protect and smooth away dry patches on lips and leave them feeling soft. They have blended super hydrating 100% natural hyaluronic acid and highly emollient and protective pharma grade lanolin to plump and smooth; a trio of organic shea, mango and cocoa butters to soften and protect against the elements.

Vitamins and essential fatty acid-laden rosehip, jojoba and virgin coconut oils to soothe and hydrate with rose otto, rose geranium and palma rosa to calm and balance.

An amazing product which you should definitely try especially if you have lips that get chapped easily. This soothes dry lips easily and is perfect  to keep in your handbag as well as take away with you on holiday. With 100% natural ingredients you can’t really go wrong. The salve is easily absorbed into your lips, perfect for wearing under lipgloss but not the best for wearing under lipstick in my opinion. Also the smell of this is lovely it really is something than you have to try for yourself.

Beauty Boxes : She Said Beauty August Box

Last months box made She Said Beauty even more popular after bowling over the competition with such an amazing box so this month everyone is bubbling over with excitement to know what they have for us and if its going to top the previous months box. What is it you’d like to be getting this month?… Perfume, Make up, Face & Body beautifiers ?

Well here is what the August Box has to offer:

Inside The Box

  • 4711 Eau de Cologne – 4711 Original Eau de Cologne is one of Cologne’s oldest internationally famous brands or so its said I’ve personally never heard of it. For more than 200 years, it has delivered on its promise: using this unique fragrance refreshes the mind, body and soul. The secret formula for 4711 Original Eau de Cologne is still appreciated across the globe today, making this ‘aqua mirabilis’ an unparalleled classic. Comes in a cute bottle but don’t know if I’d use it.
  • Absolutely Flawless Nail Foils – 32 Nail Foils for Finger or Toe Nails. No Drying time. Easy to apply. No Chipping. Over 130 designs to choose from. Haven’t heard any great reports on these but would love to hear your opinions.
  • Balance Me Rose Otto Intensive Lip Salve – Balance Me’s new, petroleum-free, 100% natural ultra-moisturising intensive lip salve. Can be used daily to plump, protect and smooth away dry patches on lips and leave the soft. I love the Balance Me products so I can’t wait to try this.
  • Redken Color Extend Radiant-10 – New Color Extend Radiant-10 is Redken’s first dual-phase, color-preserving formula designed to meet the needs of color-treated hair. A combination formula of a nourishing cream with the lightness of a spray to deliver 10 transformative benefits: stronger, protected, moisturized, detangled, softened, nourished, vibrant, manageable, frizz-free, shiny. I wonder if this lives up to what it says it can do.
  • Nails Inc – Nail The Day – Nails inc nail polish is formulated with the latest professional technologies and are created for women who demand uncompromising quality and instant results. Fashion is at the heart of nails inc and as a result has become one of the leading brands in the UK, with an ability to switch on the latest shades and trends. I love nails inc products, they do have great colours so this wouldn’t be the first time I’ve used their products.
  • Papier Poudre – These Absorbent powdered face papers have been around for years. I’ve had these before in my Luxbox which I loved, what do you think of them?
  • White Glo Professional Choice Toothpaste – Professional Choice – Australia’s No. 1 whitening toothpaste. The original formula designed to gently lift stains and discolouration from teeth using micro-polishing particles. Hmmm toothpaste in a beauty box never tends to go down well unless its the flavoured one I tried which was amazing.

Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash Review

I love the Balance Me products and was so happy when one of my monthly magazines were giving away samples, having already tried the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream and the Moisture – Rich Face Cream, I really wanted to try the Pure Skin Face Wash. At 98.8 % natural they are still living up their natural ingredients, the pure skin face wash ingredients consist of grapefruit, petitgrain and frankincense essential oils with spruce knot extract to improve as well as smooth the appearance of clogged or problem complexions. There  is also anti-oxidant rich moringa and rice bran oils to help to brighten and polish the skin leaving it smoothed as well as cleansed.

“A gentle yet effective non-drying sulphate and petroleum free face wash to cleanse skin of make-up and daily grime. Formulated with anti-oxidant rich moringa and rice brand oils to brighten and polish the skin and leave it smooth and gently cleansed. Ideally suited for normal to combination skins.”

I am so glad I got this wash, I use it every night and sometimes in the mornings too. It’s perfect for removing make up in the nights and cleansing my face, I only use a little at a time with some warm water. Just put some on the tips of your fingers, add a little warm water and rubs in circler motion all over your face. This beautiful products leaves your skin feeling soft and so clean you will hardly believe it but you will feel the difference.

Balance Me is quickly becoming one of must have products, next I’m going to try the cleanse and smooth face balm.

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream Review

I have used many of the Balance Me products now and each one has lived up to my expectations. I received the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream in my first Lux Box and have been using it ever since. It’s replaced my Benefit Eye Con, I now use this cream in the morning and night.

A triple action eye cream to help revitalise weary eyes, smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of the fine lines with super hydrating hyaluronic acid to help brighten and smooth the delicate skin around the eyes.

A naturally active lightweight cream which my skin absorbs so easily, the ingredients include Roman chamomile and skin-brightening lemon, cucumber oil and witch hazel with super hydrating hyaluronic acid. Also anti-oxidant spruce knot, softening and smoothing virgin coconut, rosehip, carrot oils, all of this mixed up into one little cream to help brighten and smooth the delicate skin around your eyes.

How to apply: Twice Daily after moisturising, just pat and smooth around the eye area.

Balance Me : Moisture Rich Face Cream

I received a sample of this from Whatsinmyhandbag.com and since trying their Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream I was looking forward to giving this sample a try. Now that I’ve had the product a couple of weeks I feel like I can give a much better opinion on it and what effect it has had on my skin. I thought this would be perfect for my skin as it tends to be dry through the winter and considering the British weather it hasn’t improved yet even though its now summer.

“A sophisticated, high performance, deeply hydrating daily moisturiser formulated with anti-oxidant Arctic cloudberry and a bespoke blend of exquisite rose oils that leaves the perfect ‘slip’ finish on your complexion. Ideally suited for normal to dry/sensitive skins.”

The cream itself is targeted towards normal/dry skin as well as people with sensitive skin, as soon as you open it to can smell the rose oil. Rose products are one of my favourites so you can imagine how happy I was with the scent of this cream. The texture is quite thick but once applied it doesn’t feel like its caked on, it sinks into skin and in my opinion instantly hydrates. Something else that really makes me feel goof about this product is the ingredients are 99% natural origin and in all honesty that’s good enough for me. Balance Me moisture-rich face cream is advertised as a cream that with create a barrier from the daily wear & tear, this is thanks to skin- boosting, plumping blend of natural but active ingredients.

  • Anti-oxidant rich Arctic cloudberry extract helps to prevent moisture loss and improve skin elasticity.
  • Organic shea butter is blended with vitamins, lipid and essential fatty acid-rich camellia, rosehip and kukui nut oils.
  • Our bespoke blend of rose absolute, rose geranium, lemon and benzoin along with natural source vitamin E, ensures that normal, sensitive and mature skins can benefit from more radiant and rejuvenated looking complexions.
  • Moisture-rich face cream can be partnered with radiance oil for doubled up protection and a super moisture boost.
For such a great product that will last I think this is great, my skin does feel softer, firmer and protected from the elements. I’m going to keep using this until I finish my sample size and then once I finish my other samples I am definitely considering buying this.
What do you think?

Beauty Box: She Said Beauty June Box

The post is little late but since its the jubilee holidays im sure you’ll have some spare time to read. She Said Beauty’s June box has come with a lot if praise this month except for the eyelashes which it seems people are a little fed up of getting. Personally I love the lashes but they are beginning to stack up. This months box had its usual 5 items including a bonus 6th item.

This months goodies are:

  • Balance Me – Super Moisturising Hand Cream : Our ultra-moisturising, hand cream has been created to smooth and soothe hard-working hands because for many of us they’re where ageing starts to show first.”Our super moisturising cream is special. Along with fatty-acid and vitamin-packed shea butter and sweet almond oil we’ve added two ancient therapeutic skin conditioners, the Egyptian embalming agent benzoin, and yarrow, which legend says Achilles used on his wounded soldiers in the Trojan war. Patchouli is a calming essential oil for weathered skin, carrageenan gum gives skin a smooth texture and kukui nut oil make even problem skin supple.” I’ve noticed more and more of this brand lately as they increase in popularity. Iv’e tried the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream which is a great product so I’ll do a review for you later on.
  • Elemis Tranquil Indulgent Bath Elixer : Close your eyes and transport yourself to an exotic island. Skin conditioning cocoa butter, combined with sensuous patchouli, cedarwood, and vetivert leaves your body soft and mind soothed. This smells gorgeous the spicy fragrance helps you unwind and completely relax…why not light some candles when you bathe.
  • St. Tropez – Gradual Tan Everyday Body : This enriched, nourishing body moisturiser cleverly combines serious skin care benefits with a healthy touch of bronze. Again not my thing.
  • Yardley London – Royal Diamond : Inspired by the sense of optimism in the build up to this years British celebratory events, Yardley London is proud to present its first floral bouquet fragrance, Royal Diamond. A soft floral fragrance which is nice but is a bit more of an older persons scent in my opinion.
  • Let’s Go Lashes – Tease : The lash with the full-length, full-bodied and full-on flutter. Seductive, intensive and ruthless. Obviously fake, very plasticy and not worth the effort of putting on.
  • Ginvera – Green Tea Nude BB Cream – This new formula is uniquely blended with Green Tea Extracts which contains a large amount of anti-oxidants to help fight against free radical damage and help prevent fine lines. It is also enhanced with Allantoin, a valuable cell-proliferating healing agent that stimulates healthy tissue formation as well as Hyaluronic acid for intense hydration and precious herb extracts Ginseng and Angelica to nourish and hydrate skin. It also helps control oil, moisturise while providing superior protection against UV rays and natural pollutants! Its multiple efficacies as an oil control makeup base, sunscreen as well as foundation keeps you looking fair, beautiful and effortlessly good. Easily the best item in the box even though its the bonus item.

Other items you could have got were:

  • Other various Let’s Go Lashes
  • Mischa Barton – Whipped Shea Body Butter : Greasy and the smell lingers so long you get a little sick of it.
  • St. Tropez – Self Tan Perfect Legs : Not for me I like my pale skin.

Thanks x
