Glossybox Reveal : April Iconic Box 2015

It’s been a few months since my last box, I was once again starting to stockpile products that were never getting used and I was getting disappointed in the boxes which at the end of the day was a complete waste of money.
I decided the GlossyBox April box was a must for me because it was my kind of box. For anyone who reads my posts regularly then you know I love the stars and looks of the past. I also can’t say no to red lipstick and black winged eyeliner. The theme of the box is Iconic as in the names Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. The glamorous movie stars that a lot of girls strive to be in their own way.

I couldn’t wait to recieve this box and wow look at it, already a big smile on my face before I even get to the contents. So here are the contents of this wonderful box:

Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil : Kiss
A beautiful red lipstick pencil described as the perfect Marilyn red. A modern take on the classic pillar box red, this colour is just what you need for spring (and all year) in pencil form. The pencil form provides easier application as well as the formula been long-lasting with a matte finish. If you want a glossy finish just add a dab of lip balm.  A full size product worth £10 and it slips easily into your bag.

Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser
A firm favourite amongst make up artists and stars since its creation in the 1950s, this rich moisturising cream is versatile and perfect no matter what your age. It can even be used as a make up remover!. At £3.89 per 200ml it’s not the most expensive product in the box but it’s definitely worth knowing about.

POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pencil
I love my eyeliner and I’m looking forward to giving this a try. A pencil that makes creating that iconic cat eye even easier thanks to the sooty black pencil one end and the sponge applicator the other to create that flick. Want a smokier look just keep blending. Full size product worth £6.50.

Color Club Nail Polish : Barely There
As a rule I hate getting nail varnish, it’s never red in the boxes I get and that’s my favourite nail varnish colour but I can actually say I’m happy this time. I love nude nails as long as the colour works and it doesn’t look patchy. The nail vanish is perfect and is going to be one of my firm favourites when I need a change from red. Very sophisticated and glossy. Another full size product worth £4.10.

Nougat London : Soothing Bath Pearls
Wow these have scented the entire box and the smell is beautiful. An intoxicating, soothing aroma of Fig and Pink Cedar. I’ve just used my last Lush Bath Bomb so this is what’s going in my bath tonight. It’s a new launcher product for £6 per 35ml.

Overall I love this box, it doesn’t add up to a lot but I think i got my money’s worth and I love all the products. Couldn’t be happier. Look out for the reviews

Illamasqua Eye Liner Cake Review

I am a huge fan of Illamasqua products although they rank quite highly they are also quite pricey but if you’ve got the money they are most definitely worth it. I love what the brand stands for, it pushes you to be yourself and dare to be different. One of my favourite products are Illamasquas Eye Liner Cakes, if you haven’t tried one yet then your missing out. Now this isn’t the standard type of eye liners, its not a pencil, gel or technically a liquid. So how does it work ?.

Well you add two drops of their sealing gel and mix it in to your chosen eye liner cake, once you’ve done this now you have your liquid eye liner. It dries quickly and once you’ve applied it, its not going to budge.

One thing I do recommend it use a decent stiff eye liner brush as this will make the product much easier to work with. It will give you the perfect definition and you will become an expert at the cat eye / eye liner flick. I recommend you give this a try you will not be disapointed. I currently have Mislead (black) and Zeal (green). Danger looks really nice too which is a blue colour, do you dare?

Next I’m going to be trying the eye brow cakes x

Snow White & The Huntsman Palette : Look & Review

I had been waiting to see Snow White & The Huntsman for months when I came across this exclusive Palette by Diego Dalla Palma. I originally saw it advertised by She Said Beauty in a give away which I entered so I could have ended up with two.  The palette has 6 neutral shades, 3 sparkle and 3 matt, eyeliner and lipstick. I will swatch this later so you can see the colours on their own. I have never used Diego Dalla Palma make up before but I am impressed.

Here was what I used and my overall look:

Face

Paul & Joe Moisturising Pimer N

E.L.F Studio Tinted Moisturiser Spf 20

MAC Select Moisturecover – NW15

Illamasqua Powder Blusher – Unrequited

Eyes

Diego Dalla Palma – Snow White & The Huntsman Palette :

Eye shadows : Snow, Shield, Mirror Mirror, Fairest and Battleground

Eye liner: Dark Knight

E.L.F Studio : Eyebrow lifter / filler

Mac Mascara x – Black

Boots 17 Photo Flawless Mascara – Black,Gold

 Lips

Mac Lip Liner – Cherry

Diego Dalla Palma – Snow White & The Huntsman Palette : Lipstick – Wicked Queen

I loved using this palette, the colours were so soft and bendable. The eye liner was soft and could hold a line as well as work with a smudged smokey eye look and as for the lipstick this is a beautiful colour red which I will happily add to my collection, creamy and has staying power.

Enjoy x

May GlossyBox Review- Birthday Box

My may GlossyBox has arrived and I am excited to see not only what is in my box but also if I am one of the Golden Ticket holders and due to get one of the fabulous GlossyBox Prizes. I’m looking forward to finding out what these products are and if there are any hidden extras as I know Glossy Box can be very kind to us. My initial reaction is it smells gorgeous already the smell of the perfume has me intoxicated and I know Im going to like them but what else is inside?

May GlossyBox – The Birthday Box

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel Full Size £20 250ml: First things first the smell of this is gorgeous, close your eyes and the scents smell exactly like the name….Summer. The scents included are elderflower, gooseberry, orange blossom, moss and cut grass. Said to leave your skin feeling soft, clean and beautifully scented. Walking around smelling like this all day would definitely put you in a good mood.

Lolita Lempicka – Eau de Parfum / L’Eau en Blanc Full Size £65 100ml (also available in 50ml): Now until now I haven’t been very much bothered about the perfumes I’ve been sent, but both these two perfumes are game changers. Ive heard of this brand before and was looking forward to trying them one day but now I have samples of these two my next choice will be which one to buy. Eau de Parfum is described as a sensual, oriental and floral with scents such as anise, ivy, violet, tonka bean, amerena, vanilla and praline. If you haven’t smelt this yet then you have to try it… definitely one to intoxicate your partner. L’Eau en Blanc is a limited edition scent which really is indescribable with scents such as white violets, raspberry and musk. It is exclusive to House of Fraser until 31st May and nationwide from the 1st June. These fragrances really are worth it.

HD Brow – Brow Beater Full Size £14.95: A non-sticky formula to keep your eyebrows slick and in place without freezing your eyebrows in place. I usually use pencil to colour my brows and nothing to keep them in place all day but I’ll definitely try this as the formula may be enough to keep my eyebrows looking neat without the need for make-up.

Weleda – Iris Hydrating Day Cream Full Size £10.95 30ml –  At first I had no idea what this was as the whole packaging is in German but thanks to google translate I now know this is a hydrating day cream. I will give it a go as my skin has quite a few dry patches, for the last week I have been using Steamcream which is a god send in every way to my skin but its always worth giving another product a try to give your skin a break from the normal routine.

Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner Full Size £4.99 6ml – Im not usually one for gel eyeliners no matter how much everyone has come to love them, for me its pencil or liquid depending on the effect I’m after. I will try it as if its in the box then GlossyBox has had a good reason in putting it there.Ive got brown so perfect colour for the natural everyday look.

Added Bonuses:

  • GlossyBox Birthday balloon
  • GlossyBox Hand Mirror.
