We are a huge superhero loving family, films are watched together, our own comics are shared, we all have our favourite and we even love some of the villians but who doesn’t. Our children are growing up in the same way to love all things geeky with a mind of their own and what parent wouldn’t be proud of that.
When I was looking for a Batman Necklace I couldn’t find one I liked, I didn’t want a huge chunky metal one I wanted something lighter but couldn’t find the right one so I made my own. Once I’d made mine my eldest daughter wanted one and asked if I could make a Wonder Woman one too. So that’s how I began making superhero necklaces. With all the films and Tv shows around right now it’s no suprising how popular Superheros have become. Many long awaited films are out this year.
I currently have Doctor Who and Superman/ Supergirl available with the rest of the stock to be updated within the week. Then Avengers, Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman will also be available. If there is anything you’d like but it’s not yet available drop me a message and I’ll see what I can do.
I was #TeamBatman and #Teamcap, who were your loyalties to?
With the film finally realised and many now receiving their Marvel Collector Corps Civil War Box in the mail, this seems like the perfect time to discuss what’s in the latest Marvel Collectors Corps Box. But before we do…
Who has seen Captain America Civil War, my husband was lucky enough to have the release day off work so we dropped the little ones off at the grandparent and had a night off. It was amazing! . my eldest was not happy we went without her but geeky date night comes first as it doesn’t happen often. I won’t give any spoilers for the people that haven’t been yet but two things I’m still #teamcap all the way and secondly as with all Marvel films the clip after the credits, this time there’s two :).
Anyway back to the Civil War box, as you may remember last time we didn’t actually receive this box at the time I didn’t really care there are things I’m gutted we missed but to me the contents are so similar to the general stuff available. The other half is the complete opposite he would have loved the box and its contents. There is no way we’re paying rip off prices so we’ll probably back order with the next box.
So here goes if you’ve got to this point and don’t want to know the contents, turn back now!
Crossbones Patch & Black Panther Badge
Captain America Civil War pop T-shirt : Who’s side are you on?
Black Panther Variant Cover Comic
Civil War Lanyard (Iron Man & Captain America)
Exclusive Captain America Civil War Tony Stark unmasked Dorbz
Exclusive Captain America & Iron Man Action pose 2 pack Funko pop vinyl
What do you think of the contents?. Did you miss out?. Let me know in the ccomments.
I know by now you’ve already read a good few posts about the Marvel Collector Corps boxes but I’ve finally got mine so your going to hear my opinion and see what t-shirt I got. I’ve been looking forward to this ever since watching a review about the box and I was sold as soon as I saw the Pop in it because anyone that’s seen Avengers Age of Ultron will probably want one. It probably took me longer than normal to get round to ordering it because I wasn’t sure about ordering a box that was $43 (roughly £29) and then possibly having to pay custom charges on top of that.
In the end my other half wanted this box so badly we thought why not and I am beyond happy we didn’t get the custom charges on top which makes this box a bargain for what is inside.
My son thinks Captain America is awesome just like his mammy so you can see he’s already trying to claim it as his own, very clever 1 year old but he’s going to have to share. I do already know the contents but just not sure which t-shirt we got so pretty excited. Take a look at the video below and I’ll list the items underneath just in case you miss something.
The contents of my Marvel Collector Corps Avengers box in no particular order:
Funko Pop Vinyl : Hulkbuster
Captain America vs Ultron T-shirt (4 different ones to collect)
Funko Dorbz: Ultron
Collector Corps Pin Badge
Collector Corps Woven Patch
Unlike the standard subscrption boxes these come out every two months, this was Aprils and the next one for June has the theme Antman. I’m not quite sure yet if we will get it, we’ll probably wait it out and see the contents first to see if it’s worth it and has items that we want. Either way I’m looking forward to seeing what boxes they bring out in the coming months.
The husband and I were eyeing up this company for a couple of weeks but since we’re not Game Of Thrones fans and we didn’t quite fancy the Star Wars box we hadn’t got round to placing an order. Then after we saw Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron we were having another look and found they’d brought out a Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Mystery Merchandise Box. Not as cheap as other subscription boxes at £34.99 plus delivery but the box is said to be worth over £60.
And here it is in (not quite) all its glory. Keep reading…
+ Iron Man Fabrications
+ Thor from a set of Funky Wacky Wobblers
+ Micro Comic Fun Pack
+ The Mighty Thor T-Shirt
By our estimates we worked out the value of this box at less than £50 and not more than £60 as advertised and so contacted Bay-57 for clarification and see if a mistake was made. With no response to email my husband contacted them via Instagram and then through their advice through Facebook messenger.
My husband and daughter unboxing:
We got told that our box did look a few items light and they agreed to send out some extras to make it what it should have been. We were told that it must have been a picking error and the items should be with us in a few days.
Unfortunately the items that turned up where another mini comic and a pair of Captain American shot glasses that appeared to be old stock.
We were more than dissapointed and once again my husband contacted them only this time it took them 1 week to respond.
I can only really sum up what a dissapointment ordering from this company has been from beginning to end, I’ve learnt that they are fairly new in the box market but for such a saturated market they needed to be on their game as they’ve obviously had stock issues and their customer service could do with a lot of improvement. We were offered more items but then told as we’d already had more items then they couldn’t send more out. We still question the items value total as it did not amount to over £60, they said it did but I think they exaggerated the cost of each item so it would add up to over £60 to cover themselves. We could return the box at our own cost and have a refund but in the end it wasn’t worth dealing with them anymore so we decided enough was enough.
The contents weren’t 100% bad, I love the Fabrikation and the t-shirt but the box to me didn’t fulfill what they were advertising. It was a let down, not worth the cost, their claims of been over £60 and then their appalling customer service just undid any liking I had of the box at the beginning.
I wish I’d fully looked at this company and the problems other customers had before we ordered with them, I can’t see us ordering from them in the future. All I can say is if your going to order then order with caution, you may be lucky and have no problems or you may end up feeling like us which is dissapointed and out of pocket.
