LootCrate is another monthly mystery box subscrption that offers geeky goodies and exclusive items. It’s based in America but does ship to the UK for around £20 (that includes the box and shipping). It doesn’t alway include a Funko Pop Vinyl but when there is, it’s usually an Exclusive. LootCrate April had a theme “Quest” that promised exclusive items for Labyrinth & Harry Potter.
I know a lot of Labyrinth fans that wanted to get hold of the exclusive item especially after the passing of David Bowie earlier this year, an amazing man who will never be forgotten, for me it will be this film I remember him for.
Here is what was including in the April LootCrate:
- Vikings Drinking Horn
- D20 Ice Mould
- Harry Potter Socks
- Labyrinth T-shirt
- April 2016 Loot Pin
- Uncharted 4 : A Theif’s End Poster
I love the T-shirt is amazing, the socks would have been cool but I’m not wowed. Not a fan of Vikings so wouldn’t use the drinking horn, wouldn’t use the Ice Mould either. I would recommend trying them though, they have something different every month and you can order one box or a subscription for a couple of months. The next boxes theme is Power and subscriptions to it end in 12 days. There are also other crates to choose from including a Firefly one.

I am am super excited this morning, even though I was woke at ungodly hours (well for a saturday atleast) it was for a very good reason. Epic mail call of our second box from Marvel Collector Corps this time Marvel Collector Corps Ant-man aswell as our infinity crate.
Originally I wasn’t that excited about this box as I wasn’t an Ant-man fan and I was really hoping we weren’t going to get stung by custom charges especially since we had no idea what was in the box and if it would be worth it. But this time around no shipping issues, no customs charges and it was delivered very quickly…it was worth the wait.
As usual we have my awesome hubby unboxing and my hansome little boy making a guest appearance. Take a look at what we recieved in our box:
I loved this box,the pin and badge are great little collectables. I hope they keep these coming in each box. For those who just want the contents, here’s what we had:
Funko Exclusive unmasked Ant-man with mini little bobble head Ant-man
2 Ant-man mystery minis
Ant-man comic #5 varient cover
Ant-man Pin Badge
A great box and I’m looking foward to the announcement next month of what the theme for August’s box will be. Any guesses?
The husband and I were eyeing up this company for a couple of weeks but since we’re not Game Of Thrones fans and we didn’t quite fancy the Star Wars box we hadn’t got round to placing an order. Then after we saw Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron we were having another look and found they’d brought out a Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Mystery Merchandise Box. Not as cheap as other subscription boxes at £34.99 plus delivery but the box is said to be worth over £60.
And here it is in (not quite) all its glory. Keep reading…
+ Iron Man Fabrications
+ Thor from a set of Funky Wacky Wobblers
+ Micro Comic Fun Pack
+ The Mighty Thor T-Shirt
By our estimates we worked out the value of this box at less than £50 and not more than £60 as advertised and so contacted Bay-57 for clarification and see if a mistake was made. With no response to email my husband contacted them via Instagram and then through their advice through Facebook messenger.
My husband and daughter unboxing:
We got told that our box did look a few items light and they agreed to send out some extras to make it what it should have been. We were told that it must have been a picking error and the items should be with us in a few days.
Unfortunately the items that turned up where another mini comic and a pair of Captain American shot glasses that appeared to be old stock.
We were more than dissapointed and once again my husband contacted them only this time it took them 1 week to respond.
I can only really sum up what a dissapointment ordering from this company has been from beginning to end, I’ve learnt that they are fairly new in the box market but for such a saturated market they needed to be on their game as they’ve obviously had stock issues and their customer service could do with a lot of improvement. We were offered more items but then told as we’d already had more items then they couldn’t send more out. We still question the items value total as it did not amount to over £60, they said it did but I think they exaggerated the cost of each item so it would add up to over £60 to cover themselves. We could return the box at our own cost and have a refund but in the end it wasn’t worth dealing with them anymore so we decided enough was enough.
The contents weren’t 100% bad, I love the Fabrikation and the t-shirt but the box to me didn’t fulfill what they were advertising. It was a let down, not worth the cost, their claims of been over £60 and then their appalling customer service just undid any liking I had of the box at the beginning.
I wish I’d fully looked at this company and the problems other customers had before we ordered with them, I can’t see us ordering from them in the future. All I can say is if your going to order then order with caution, you may be lucky and have no problems or you may end up feeling like us which is dissapointed and out of pocket.
